Full Light is the everyday setting. 10 Hz pulsed is an alternative mode on the same button: press once for Full Light, again for 10 Hz, and again for off. There's no wrong choice, so try both and use whichever your dog settles with best.
Near-infrared light gets through fur better than visible red light does. Thick or long coats still block some of it, though, so part the coat or place the pads where the hair is thinner for the best contact.
Yes, it's cordless. The built-in 5,000 mAh battery charges by USB, and two USB charging cables are included. Charge it fully before the first use. The light turns green when it's full, which can take several hours from flat.
