If you live in a hard water area (250 ppm+), then you may need to change the carbon block and membrane more frequently than every 6 months (maximum hardness recommended is 300 ppm CaCO3). It is also recommended to sanitise and descale the system every 2 months.

Does the system remineralise the water and is the water acidic?
Great question. The final filter in the system contains calcium and magnesium active ceramic balls. They have the effect of adding around 20-30 ppm in total to remineralise the water. Reverse osmosis as a process does not affect the pH (hydrogen ion), however because of the purity of the water CO2 is dissolved from contact with the air as soon as the water is purified which forms carbonic acid. You can observe using a digital pH meter the pH slowly falling as a glass is left standing over a few minutes. The remineralisation ionises the water to counteract the carbonic acid, however the resulting pH entirely depends on the level of CO2 in the water as well as in the air (so depending on how long the glass is left out). When you drink the water, as soon as this reaches your stomach, containing hydrochloric acid of pH 2.0, whatever the pH of the water you drink, it becomes acidic straight away, we focus on the purity, the alkalinity (not measured by pH but by the mg/l of mineral content).

Where does the rejected water go?
Rejected water goes into the supply pitcher and being recirculated.
You can request to return your item within fourteen days of delivery and post it back sixteen days after that. The customer is responsible for the item's return shipping cost. Items must be in new, sellable condition and with all the original packaging.

The warranty is valid for the UK and Republic of Ireland as well as the following EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and Hungary.
The warranty becomes effective at the date of purchase or at the date of delivery if this is later. Proof of purchase is required under the terms of the warranty. The warranty provides benefits in addition to your statutory consumer rights. The 3 Year Warranty covers the repair or replacement of all or part of your system if your system is found to be defective due to faulty materials or manufacture within 3 years of purchase. Osmio also offer free returns for customers in mainland UK only. Customers from Ireland and the EU countries listed above can also take advantage of this service but they are required to ship the system to us (no free returns). If any part is no longer available, or out of manufacture, Osmio reserve the right to replace it with a suitable alternative. Do not disassemble the system yourself as this will void your warranty and the company will not assume any responsibility for the resulting quality problems or accidents. The system is BPA-free and made to top manufacturing specifications and is CE certified. The company will charge fully for parts and maintenance if it exceeds the warranty period or the machine breaks down due to damage. Please keep your sales invoice as proof of purchase.
